This is not the first Kaweco brand tool that I hold in my hands. The first to fall into my hands were the Kaweco Sport series fountain pens.

I really love mechanical pencils in a metal case. Unfortunately, few manufacturers can boast of such pencils in their rulers. The Kaweco brand is excellent in this regard: models of different price categories, sizes and designs are presented in metal cases. I chose a Kaweco Special AL 0.5 mm mechanical pencil with eraser, in a black aluminum case (supplied in a gift case).

The pencil is packed in a metal gift box, which can be used for further storage. The pencil case is designed for two instruments.

Pencil Special AL is made of die-cast anodized aluminum in matt black color. The pencil has a slim octagonal body so it never rolls off the table. Moderately heavy (due to the aluminum body), comfortable, ergonomic - just perfect fit in your hand! The design is beyond praise! This is the most beautiful mechanical metal pencil I have ever had!

The push mechanism is made in Japan.

The eraser is located under the pencil button. The pencil is supplied with one 0.5 mm (HB) shaft. To replace the refill, you need to remove the button and eraser. The eraser can be replaced over time if it is worn out (link).

The front part of the pencil unwinds (easy and convenient), you can unwind and clean the "nose" of the pencil with a pin for cleaning mechanical pencils, suitable for pencils 0.5-0.9 mm (link).

Please note that the Kaweco Special Al series has Mini pencils that are only 10.5 cm long.
